English - Transliteration

Sorah Ad-Dhuha ( The Forenoon ) - Verses Number 11

وَالضُّحَىٰ ( 1 )

Wadduha

وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ ( 2 )

Wallayli itha saja

مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ ( 3 )

Ma waddaAAaka rabbuka wama qala

وَلَلْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَّكَ مِنَ الْأُولَىٰ ( 4 )

Walal-akhiratu khayrun laka minaal-oola

وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰ ( 5 )

Walasawfa yuAAteeka rabbuka fatarda

أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَآوَىٰ ( 6 )

Alam yajidka yateeman faawa

وَوَجَدَكَ ضَالًّا فَهَدَىٰ ( 7 )

Wawajadaka dallan fahada

وَوَجَدَكَ عَائِلًا فَأَغْنَىٰ ( 8 )

Wawajadaka AAa-ilan faaghna

فَأَمَّا الْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ ( 9 )

Faamma alyateema fala taqhar

وَأَمَّا السَّائِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ ( 10 )

Waamma assa-ila falatanhar

وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ ( 11 )

Waamma biniAAmati rabbika fahaddith

Private Devotions for Morning and Evening from the Quran and SunnahThe author said in his introduction, “There are hundreds of benefits associated with Dhikr, the act of rehearsing and celebrating the praises of Allah. The well-known medieval scholar Ibn Al-Qaiyim mentioned more than seventy of these in his book Kitabul-Adhkar. Among the benefits he mentioned were that Dhikr drives away Satan, pleases Allah, the Merciful, and replaces pain and sorrow of the heart with peace happiness and contentment.”
